Aidan’s Inspiring Journey: From Toddler to Rising Golf Star with HARG by His Side

Every great golfer has a story that starts with a simple swing—and for Aidan, that journey began when he was just 18 months old. Accompanying his father to the driving range, little Aidan picked up a golf club with a smile and hasn't put it down since. What started as a playful moment turned into a deep passion for the sport, a love for being out on the course and a promising future as a junior golfer.

Aidan’s Early Beginnings and Love for the Game

Aidan’s love for golf was clear from a very young age. By the time he was just 4 or 5 years old, he was already attending group lessons at Tynemouth Golf Club then moving from there to playing on the courses at Blyth and Longhirst Golf Clubs. It was at these locations that his passion truly flourished, and he continued to develop the skills and discipline that would soon make him a standout player for his age.

At the age of 6, Aidan competed in his first tournament with the Northern Junior Tour, and by 7, he had earned his first handicap from adult tees. Starting with a handicap of around 38, Aidan has worked tirelessly to improve, and at just 10 years old, his handicap is already down to an impressive 17.7. His goal? To be a scratch player by the time he’s 13. —and given his determination and love for the game, we have no doubt he’ll achieve it.

Aidan’s Achievements on the Junior Golf Scene

Over the years, Aidan has competed in numerous prestigious tournaments, including:

  • The Northern Junior Tour Final
  • The U.S. Kids European Championships (twice)
  • The Wee Wonders Finals in Scotland (three times)
  • The Faldo Futures Finals

Last year, Aidan also celebrated a major milestone when he won the Junior Championship Net Trophy at Longhirst Golf Club.

He’s also enjoyed success in local events and has proven himself in league games for Longhirst Juniors, whilst playing off the whites, competing against older players and never looking out of his depth. He is also already on the Northumberland County Golf Junior Pathway and continues to build a following on Instagram @Aidans_Journey_to_Scratch covering his journey in this sport.

HARG and Aidan: Supporting the Next Chapter of His Journey

At HARG, we’re incredibly proud to be part of Aidan’s journey. We’ve had the privilege of outfitting him in our latest golf apparel, ensuring he not only looks the part but feels confident and comfortable on the course. Aidan embodies the spirit of HARG—passionate, driven, and committed to his craft—and we’re honoured to support him as he works towards his dream of playing professional golf.

Aidan’s Favourite Moments and Ambitions

Like every golfer, Aidan has his favourite gear, shots, and moments on the course. His go-to clubs are his SIM2 Driver and MG4 60-degree wedge, with his favourite shot being a flop shot over the highest tree he can find—something that never fails to bring a smile to his face.

When it comes to his golfing idols, Aidan looks up to Bryson DeChambeau and Scottie Scheffler. One of his best experiences was receiving signed gloves from Scottie at the Scottish Open—an unforgettable moment that has only fuelled his ambitions even further.

Aidan has had the chance to play on some incredible courses, with PGA National and Gullane No. 3 standing out as his favourite so far. However, the course of his dreams? Augusta National. And, of course, no golfer forgets their first hole-in-one—Aidan’s came on the Yearling Course at Close House, a moment he treasures as one of his best golfing memories, alongside breaking 80 at Gullane this year.

The Future for Aidan and HARG

Aidan’s dreams are as big as his talent. He’s focused on becoming a scratch player by the age of 13, and ultimately, his ambition is to play professional golf. With HARG by his side, we’re excited to watch his journey unfold and support him every step of the way.

Aidan’s story is a true inspiration, and it’s young athletes like him that drive us to continue our mission of supporting the next generation of golfers. As we look to the future with our plans for the HARG Golf Academy, we hope to nurture even more young talent like Aidan—helping them achieve their dreams, one swing at a time.
