At HARG, we’re passionate about giving back to the community and inspiring the next generation of golfers. That’s why we launched our very first free golf lesson for kids at The Essex - Strike Shack on April 26, 2025. With the expertise of Shane Constable, a PGA Professional Coach, and the support of our co-founders and team, the day was packed with learning, laughter, and unforgettable memories!
The Lesson Highlights
The session began with Shane teaching the kids the basics of gripping the club and mastering the swing motion. His approachable coaching style made it easy for the children to grasp the fundamentals while having fun.
Once the basics were covered, it was time to warm up! The kids took turns hitting golf balls under Shane’s guidance, building their confidence with every swing.
But the real fun began with some exciting games:
- Football-Inspired Golf Shootout: The kids were divided into teams for a friendly competition that combined football and golf. The energy was electric as each team cheered each other on!
- Robot Challenge: In the grand finale, even Dan and James (HARG’s Co-Owners) joined in as the kids aimed to hit golf balls at a robot standing in the fairway. The laughter and excitement were contagious as everyone gave it their best shot.
To wrap up the day, we held an awards ceremony, where every participant received a medal to celebrate their effort and enthusiasm. The smiles on the kids’ faces and the proud cheers from their parents were the perfect ending to an incredible day.
Building a Community of Young Golfers
The response to our first free lesson has been overwhelming! Parents and children alike have been asking when the next session will take place, and we’re thrilled to announce that more lessons are on the way.
