Ever wondered what life is like inside the ropes of an LPGA event? Let’s take a deep dive into a typical tournament week—packed with travel, practice, strategy, and competition!
---
Sunday – Travel Day ✈️
This week, we’re off to Phoenix, Arizona! Travel days mean early mornings, airport coffee ☕, and plenty of time to think about the week ahead.
---
Monday – Course Walk & Prep 🏌️♂️
⏰ Early start! Depending on the schedule, I’ll walk all 18 holes or just the 9 we’re playing that day. On new courses, I like to walk the course backwards—seeing the slopes from behind the green helps with club selection and tee shot strategy.
🔹 Green Reading: Checking the pace of the greens, using grain to gauge speed.
🔹 9 Holes: We only play 9 a day to keep my player fresh in the heat ☀️🔥.
🔹 Lunch Break: Refuel before reviewing our game plan.
---
Tuesday – More Practice & Course Strategy 📋
Same routine, but now we tackle the other 9 holes. Course notes are key! 📖
---
Wednesday – Pro-Am & Range Work 🎯
Most LPGA players don’t participate in Pro-Ams, so this is a range day! We work on:
✅ Wedge control using TrackMan 📊.
✅ Dialing in numbers for precision shots 🎯.
✅ Fine-tuning distances for different course conditions.
---
Thursday – Competition Day 1 🏆
Game time! Pre-round routine starts 2 hours before tee-off:
🌬️ Check the wind—Weather Channel app is my best friend.
📍 Collect pin sheets & prep our strategy.
🎯 Focused warm-up session—time to go low!
---
Friday – Day 2: Making the Cut ✂️
Now we know what needs to be done to secure a weekend spot or push up the leaderboard 📈.
🔹 Morning rounds = softer greens.
🔹 Afternoon rounds = firm, fast conditions.
Adjustments are key!
---
Saturday/Sunday – The Final Push 🚀
If we’ve made the cut, it’s all about climbing the leaderboard one birdie at a time 🦅.
If not? We analyze what went wrong, train, and get ready for the next event.
---
Sunday Night/Monday – Off to the Next Stop 🛫
For me, that means a flight home for a short break before 10 weeks straight in the U.S.! 🏌️♂️
